Sephora Employee’s Share Their Favorite Store Products

I recently, and by recently I mean just before COVID-19 quarantine, had quite a few Sephora gift cards to spend, and decided to put my purchases in the hands of none other than the experts themselves; The wonderful Sephora staff members. Yes, I literally approached nearly each one in the store and said, “If you could only have one product in this store, what would it be?” Typically I would scope out each aisle looking for what I thought would be the best products based on flashy packaging, but this time I decided to let someone else do the deciding for me, and I was not disappointed.

If you could have one thing in this store, what would it be?

Let me start by telling you about the classically popular Brazilian Bum Bum Cream by Sol De Janeiro. This luxurious body cream has a warm mix of aromas including vanilla and pistachio. It is good for all skin types, absorbs quickly, and actually helps to tighten and smooth the look of your skin. Thanks to this little experiment, this is now my go-to nightly body cream.

I am absolutely OBSESSED with Fresh Sugar hydrating lip balm in blood orange. I apply this multiple times a day! It smells heavenly, goes on smoothly, does not leave your lips feeling sticky, softens wonderfully, and has just enough tint for those fresh-faced days where you look effortlessly beautiful and give off that “I woke up like this” vibe. Buy this product, please! You will not be disappointed. I love it so much that I think I might just do a give-away soon. *wink wink*

On the subject of lips, if yours are dry or cracked the Bite Agave overnight lip treatment is a godsend. Smoother it on before bed and wake up to your lips feeling like honey (in a cute way and minus the stickiness). While you’ve got that overnight lip treatment on go ahead and make sure you’ve got your Laneige sleep mask on to. I have dry skin and find this to be a great recovery mask. I typically apply it 1-3 nights per week to keep my skin hydrated and glowing.

Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More line is exactly what you’d think it would be. The No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel is one of the best beauty buys I have ever made. Whether you feel tired after a bad night’s sleep, cried through a sad movie before hitting the pillow, or drank a little too much wine, this eye gel will have you feeling refreshed within minutes. It’s as easy as applying a tiny amount to your under-eye area and letting it soak in while you brush your teeth. When you are done I promise you will literally feel your eye bags tighten. It is ahh-mazing!

If you know me you know that lipsticks are my jam. I am honestly ashamed to tell you how many I have, but I simply cannot get enough. Texture, finish, hours of wear, moisture, and pigment are all important when looking for lipstick. Being a self-proclaimed lipstick expert, it wasn’t easy asking “What is the best lipstick in the store?”. The selected tube was one I hadn’t tried before, and after applying one glide across my top and bottom lip I was sold. The Yves Saint Laurent Tatouage Couture Velvet Cream Liquid Lipstick’s are heaven. It passed the long-last test, as I only applied in the morning and once after lunch. My lips did not dry or crack from wear, the color is incredible and it looks effortless and natural. I have even found that it can be worn without a lip liner with no issues, however, if you want a little reinforcement try Sephora’s Beauty Amplifier Universal Lip Liner. This is perfect to keep in your purse in case you decide to swap your lipsticks when leaving the office to go out for drinks. It keeps any color in the lines!

Each morning before applying my make-up I religiously apply two products. First, the Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lid-boost 360 Eye Cream, which I’d like to point out was not one, but two Sephora consultants’ favorite product in the entire store! This cream is meant to be applied all over, under, and on top of the eye. It brightens, minimizes fine lines, and gives you a refreshed look and feel. Next, I apply the Milk Grip Primer all over my face before applying my makeup. This primer is my favorite because it really holds on to your makeup all day, hints the grip in the name. I use a powder mineral foundation, and this primer works like a charm!

I can honestly say that trusting my gift cards to the Sephora experts paid off significantly. I have found some products that I now consider to be my favorites, and that I will definitely buy over and over again. Next time you go for a makeup run, give it a try and ask the greeter what his or her all-time favorite products are! You might just find a new favorite or two yourself!
